    There was a time when alcohol-free drinks were looked down upon. Drinks like club soda and lime, or even a Shirley Temple, can be dull and embarrassingly juvenile. Thankfully, we’ve entered a golden age of alcohol-free beverages that are every bit as exciting, refined, and tasty as their alcoholic counterparts. These days, it’s simpler than ever to forgo drinking without feeling left out, thanks to the proliferation of non-alcoholic wine, champagne, beer, and even ABV-free spirits. And don’t forget to provide a refreshing mocktail, either for yourself or your guests. Here are some of our favourite low-effort, high-taste non-alcoholic dishes to offer at your next gathering.

    1. Spicy Watermelon Mint Agua Fresca.

    Ingredients:

    • 1.5 litres of ice water
    • Watermelon, 2 cups, peeled, seeds, and sliced
    • Amount: 2 tbsp granulated sugar
    • Half a lime’s juice (no more than 1 tablespoon)
    • 1/4 cup of mint leaves
    • Roughly cut 1/2 of a jalapeño.
    • Crushed ice or ice cubes (optional)

    Directions:

    1. Combine everything and blend until smooth.
    2. Strain the mixture into a pitcher, pressing down on the pulp to get rid of it.
    3. It’s best served cold.

    2. Mango Mule

    Ingredients

    • 1.5 litres of ice water
    • Watermelon, 2 cups, peeled, seeds, and sliced
    • Granulated sugar, 2 tablespoons
    • Lime juice, 1 tablespoon.
    • 25 measuring cups’ worth of mint leaves.
    • Roughly cut 5 jalapeo peppers
    • Crushed ice or ice cubes (optional)

    Instructions

    1. Combine everything and blend until smooth. Strain the mixture into a pitcher, pressing on the pulp to get rid of it. It’s best served cold.

    3. Lime with Mango

    Ingredients

    • 4-5 slices of cucumber
    • 1 oz honey syrup
    • 1.5 oz mango puree
    • 1.5 oz fresh lime juice
    • 1.5 oz ginger beer
    • Ice

    Instructions

    1. Use a cocktail shaker to muddle cucumber and honey syrup.
    2. Shake hard with ice and add the mango puree and lime juice.
    3. Put through a strainer and into a copper cup. Ginger beer to taste, please.

    4. Dry Cranberry Spitzer

    Ingredients

    • 1.5 oz In the 42nd Parallel of Seedlip Grove
    • Monlin Cranberry Juice, 1 oz.
    • Lime Juice, 1 oz.
    • Two hyphens Bitter orange

    Instructions

    1. Except for the Q Grapefruit, mix all the ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice.
    2. Give it a good shake.
    3. Once combined, strain into a Collins glass filled with ice, and top with Q Grapefruit. Prepare a tasty drink and sprinkle on some toppings.

    5. Virgin Cucumber Gimlet

    Ingredients

    • Club Soda, 1.5 oz.
    • Add four to five cucumber slices and muddle.
    • 1.5 mL of pure tequila
    • 1/2 teaspoon sugar

    Instructions

    1. Put everything in a shaker and fill it with ice.
    2. Use a rocks glass and fill it with crushed ice.
    3. Finish with a rolled piece of cucumber.

    6. Magic Apple

    Ingredients

    • 2 oz apple cider or apple juice
    • 2 dashes bitters
    • Cinnamon stick
    • Apple slice

    Instructions

    • Combine first three ingredients in a tall glass with ice.
    • Stir until cold.
    • Pour over fresh ice, garnish with cinnamon stick and apple slice, and serve.
